The Liftmaster 990LM is made to suppress electrical surges to the wall control, power line and safety sensors and comes with a 5 year warranty. If the 990LM is blown by a surge and the circuit board is damaged as well, the warranty will cover the expense of a new circuit board for 5 years from purchase date and installation of the 990LM.
