GENIE GARAGE DOOR SAFETY SENSOR TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS
First step is always to unplug your opener from the outlet and let sit for no less than 30 minutes. Since there is no reset button on garage door opener units, resetting is usually done by unplugging the unit. Always check the lenses on each sensor to make sure they are clear of dirt or spider webs. Also, keep in mind that when garage doors are opened during rain, moisture can affect the sensor – they are not waterproof.
Each sensor has a light on it – the red is the transmitter and the green is the receiver. Use the chart below to help diagnose your problem.
